The Deity of Christ is without a doubt one of the most fundamental cornerstone doctrines in the Bible. There are a multitude of doctrines and truths found in the Bible, but this matter of Jesus being God manifested in the flesh is absolutely essential. There are some things that people can agree to disagree on, but this doctrine is not one of them! John the Beloved was so passionate about the importance of this belief that he said it like this; “And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.” (1 John 4:3) He was not talking about whether Jesus had been born – that was never in question. The deity of Christ was what was being called into question. John had referred to this critical doctrine as early as the Gospel of John chapter 1 verse 1 and then again in verse 14. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1) “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14) Please read this book with an open heart if you doubt the deity of Christ!
